南韓的中東呼吸症候群冠狀病毒感染症(MERS-CoV)疫情持續擴大，已經成為全球第二大感染國。行政院長毛治國今天(11日)在行政院會指示，相關單位應持續秉持「料敵從寬、禦敵從嚴」的態度，持續加強防疫戒備。
南韓的MERS疫情蔓延，世界衛生組織專家已經前往協助。
行政院長毛治國11日在行政院會表示，南韓已出現122例確診病例，其中9例死亡，他指示衛福部持續加強防疫工作。行政院發言人孫立群轉述說：『(原音MERS-CoV在南韓感染病例仍持續蔓延，在短時間內已成為全球第二大感染國，我國應秉持「料敵從寬、禦敵從嚴」的態度，持續加強戒備，請衛福部嚴密監控、掌握南韓及國際疫情發展，做好各項防範準備。』
毛治國表示，為了防堵MERS入侵台灣，必須加強邊境檢疫工作、強化醫療防疫體系整備及醫護人員的警覺，他指示相關部會須積極配合。
毛治國也請衛福部儘速研議相關措施，凡是曾前往南韓或中東地區、返國後出現疑似病症的民眾，就醫時應明確告知旅遊史。毛治國並特別提醒要避免民眾過度恐慌，一旦出現不實謠言，應儘速澄清。
